The Dutch Red Cross has implemented a new collection system. With its Stb Collection Suite, the humanitarian organization expects to streamline its entire process, especially preparing and processing collections. In doing this, they intend to increase their collection margin. The Red Cross previously used Clics Collection Web, an Stb software solution that’s no longer being updated.
The Stb Collection Suite is made up of Collection Manger for the back-office, Collection Web for the organizing volunteer, and the Collection App for the collector. The latter solution – a tool enabling mobile donations – was developed by Stb in mid-2014 in cooperation with the Red Cross and the CM/VFI Geef Mobiel (Mobile Giving) platform. Together with the other two modules, the Red Cross now has a new collection suite.
The Collection Web module supports the departments and the organizing volunteers in their administrative tasks. For example, the Red Cross can use the software to place online orders for materials, to link walking routes with its almost thirty thousand collectors, to manage local authority grants, and to automatically send welcome and thank you e-mails. During the processing stage, the software also supports counting the proceeds, performing the remittance, and comparing bank statements with committed remittances.
Collection Web is integrated with the Collection App. This mobile app is used by the collector and the district coordinator. In addition to the walking route and information functionalities, the Collection App also makes it possible to collect donations through text messages. This is done by linking to VFI’s Mobile Giving platform.
The Red Cross has been working together with Stb since 2008. Frank Kempers, Red Cross collection organization manager: “The Collection Web geomapping in combination with the user-friendliness is an asset for the Red Cross when it comes to organizing and carrying out a collection.” The Red Cross runs collections during the week between 14 and 20 June 2015.
Stb Automatisering & Advies provides sector-specific business software to around three hundred service organizations, such as associations and sectoral organizations, healthcare institutions, governments, and charities. Among others, the Salvation Army has chosen to process the revenues it receives from inheritances with the help of the Legacies module that’s part of the Stb Charity software solution. This application supports the entire process: from providing guidance to people who intend to include a charitable clause in their will to processing a legacy or inheritance.
