It's springtime: a positive outlook on the summerLarge projects have been completed, nice projects have been initiated. Stb Charity, the module within our CRM package targeting the fundraising market, was launched in April. Last week, we rolled out a new version of Worknets.com, the integrated Social Business cooperation platform. To put it briefly, R&D has sown its seeds. In April, Stb sponsored a charitable golfing event. 11,000 euros were raised for Villa Joep, a fund dedicated to fighting childhood neuroblastoma! A remarkable result for this organization, which was achieved in spite of these rather meager times. In June, Stb is going to be the main sponsor of Bestuurderscentrum.nl's golfing event. Perhaps you might find that event interesting as well. It's an opportunity to meet fellow-executives from other sector associations and fundraising organizations, in a pleasant and informal setting. Three projects completed: we are proud to announce that the projects for PCOB (an association of the elderly, with around 100,000 members), Stichting Doen (closely linked to the National Postcode Lottery, managing around 30 million euros for charity purposes) and a new module for the municipality of Rotterdam (PGA, a business-critical application with 400 users for the person-related approach) have been delivered. The projects for USG Restart, NUV (Dutch Publishers' Union), and Pink Ribbon have been started and are now our main focus. Briefly put, Stb has a positive outlook on the summer. Rob Goijen,
New clientsDuring the past months, Stb has again managed to land nice jobs with leading organizations. The Dutch Publishers' Union (Nederlands Uitgeversverbond – NUV) has chosen Stb as their CRM system implementation partner. USG Restart has also placed its trust in Stb. Another nice client that we have gladly welcomed is Pink Ribbon. NUV chose Stb as its partner in the implementation of its CRM system following extensive and in-depth prior research. The Stb system focuses on member, sector, and professional organizations. USG Restart has also chosen to go with Stb. USG Restart offers professional guidance for people wishing to take a new step in their career. Stb is going to automate this whole professional reintegration process. We are also happy to welcome Pink Ribbon as our client. Stb is going to automate the whole back-office and donations department.
New project managerOn April 18, 2013, Rick Bakker joined our team as project manager. His tasks at Stb will involve, among others, account management support, attending implementations of Stb systems at our clients, and coordinating project activities.
Microsoft Outlook add-in
The main features are:
The add-in is available for Microsoft Outlook 2007, 2010, and 2013. If you would like to use the add-in in combination with your Stb product or if you have any questions, please contact your Stb account manager.
IBAN module for FileMaker systems
Part 2 of this module is scheduled for this autumn. That will include converting the current standards for payment files (Clieop03, MT940, GMU) to the new standards.
Support in focus: FileMakerFileMaker updates and new hardware Imagine that you're happily working with our system in FileMaker and you would like to invest in new PC's or maybe in a new server. Since new hardware also brings along new software, such as the newest version of MS Windows, Office or Server, it is important to know whether your current FileMaker software is compatible with it. Our support team can help you with information. Some of you are still working with FileMaker 6. In the meantime, FileMaker 12 is already available. There are 10 years of technological developments between the two versions, which can mean that some software is no longer supported or that your FileMaker application may no longer work correctly. If you find yourself in such a situation or if you're simply keen on keeping your software up to date, contact us or your account manager to find out what your options are. We'll gladly explain to you what you can do.

Stb in 2013The end of last year brought many new beginnings at Stb, such as the setting up of Stb Charity, the relocation of Stb Care to Almere, and the launch of Worknets.com. Additionally, all our consultants are now certified for FileMaker 12. There will be no radical shift of focus for Stb in 2013. In spite of the tough economic situation, we are happy to see a constant influx of new clients. IADC went live in February this year, to be followed by three new large clients in March. Communication and information oriented towards our existing and prospective clients are among our main points of focus this year:
Once again, we've got lots of nice initiatives. If you have any suggestions for the newsletter or other forms of communication from Stb, we would be glad to hear them. Happy reading! Rob Goijen,

New colleague in marketingOn January 9, 2013, Janet Nawijn has joined our staff as marketing coordinator. Support in focus: My StbYou have probably noticed already: My Stb, our client support system, has recently undergone substantial changes:
The new statuses in My Stb explained Reviewed. This ticket status means that our developers have enough information available to be able to proceed. Previously, a ticket would still show up as 'Open' or 'In progress' during this stage. It was therefore not clear what action had been taken regarding the ticket. Developer planned. When a ticket gets this status, it has already been assigned to a developer. Customer test. Previously, a ticket that was ready to be tested by you showed up with the 'Customer Action Required' status. This status still exists, but it only concerns requests for further information or confirmation of a task approval. This new status makes it clearer to you what you need to do. Planned for production. This status means that a ticket solution has been tested and approved by you. Previously, a ticket at this stage showed up as 'In progress'.
Stb AMS has gone live at IADC
Stb's experience, flexibility, and result-oriented, personal approach were among the reasons why IADC chose us to replace their existing CRM environment. The focus was on relationship management, event organization support, and integration with the website. In addition to relationship management, the CRM system also supports all the specific organization- and event-related processes. With the help of several specially built reports, IADC has a clear picture of the enrolments and can provide optimal communication. IADC uses the English user interface of Stb AMS. The IADC website is an important part of this. Together with the web developer, Stb built the interface between Stb AMS and the website, with features including the ability to process event enrolments from the website directly in the CRM system. Stichting Kimon is the lucky winner!Putten, January 7, 2013. Stb Charity manager Hans de Groot hands a 250-euro check to Stichting Kimon. Stichting Kimon took part in the lottery organized by Stb Charity on the National Fundraisers' Day in November last year.
A dynamic autumn: the arrival of Stb Charity and the relocation of Stb CareWe are proud to announce the launch of Stb Charity and the relocation of Stb Care to its own premises in Almere. These are major milestones of the past two months. Additionally, a lot has happened on the technological side as well, culminating with the Android version of our mobile app, which has gone live officially and is now available for our CRM clients. The charity market in the Netherlands is in full swing. The lower government involvement, resulting in fewer subsidies, is stimulating organizations to become more professional and efficient. ICT plays an increasingly important part on this market, including in the communication with the donors. In addition to FileMaker, Stb focuses on member and sector organizations, training institutes, and care institutions. A strategic expansion into the charity and NGO market has been on our wish list for a long time. As early as the beginning of the year, we started talks with DataStudio about the integration of their activities into Stb's portfolio. We can see lots of synergy benefits here, both in terms of market approach and product requirements. This segment goes well with Stb's culture and values. At the end of November, we launched Stb Charity on the National Fundraisers' Day. It turned out that Stb Charity is quite suitable for fundraising organizations in terms of both content and vision. As of November, Stb Care has purchased a new premises in Almere. Almere has got the leading edge in many fields. This includes attracting trend-setting care-related companies. We are therefore proud that Stb Care has been approached for that purpose. It is a great merit of our team, which has been working on an advanced care initiative for over two years. Stb Care enables the creation of specialist filing systems. This is how the National Specialist Fertility File (Landelijk Specialistisch Fertiliteit Dossier – LSFD) was developed. The product has already been implemented in a number of large hospitals and clinics. The relocation to Almere confirms the independence and position acquired on the market. We are happy with the steps that have been taken. These developments are in harmony with Stb's established core strategies. Our warmest season's greetings to you and your family! We'll be back with more news at the beginning of next year. Rob Goijen,

National Fundraisers' DayOn Thursday, November 29th, 2012, Stb participated in the National Fundraisers' Day, the congress that brings together fundraisers from charity and non-profit organizations. It was on that day that we unveiled Stb Charity, the new Stb software product line. Stb Charity has been developed specifically for fundraising organizations and its range of functionalities facilitates fundraising, subsidy and project management, inheritances, and sponsorships, to name but a few. From the various sessions, it became clear that ubiquitous collection is still an important income source for fundraising organizations. To attract new donors, DM is used on a large scale. It is nevertheless clear that such activities are losing ground to social media and crowd funding. Innovation is thus increasingly important in raising funds. Stb brings its own contribution with Worknets.com, the social business platform for online cooperation. Worknets.com enjoyed great interest during the event. You can find more information on the Stb Charity page and on Worknets.com.
Stb and DataStudio join forces to form Stb Charity
DataStudio is 100% oriented towards charity and fundraising organizations. Their client base includes lots of great names, such as Leger des Heils (the Dutch arm of the Salvation Army), Amnesty International, Stichting Proefdiervrij (an organization fighting for the rights of lab animals), Prins Bernard Cultuurfonds (Prince Bernard Cultural Fund), and many others. Even though Clix is a cutting-edge package, it is difficult for smaller companies to keep up with the latest technological developments. That is why DataStudio looked for a larger partner to join forces with. Following a thorough research period, Stb and DataStudio decided to combine their activities for the charity and fundraising market and to continue their journey together as Stb Charity. Both organizations' culture, market approach, and product vision complement one another well. Several Stb products can have a direct contribution to the portfolio of the former DataStudio. Stb Charity is currently developing new products to add to the portfolio. We expect these to be available at the beginning of next year. In November, we already participated in the National Fundraisers' Day (see the National Fundraisers' Day article). Our introduction received very positive reactions. Several concrete appointments have been made to enable further exchange of thoughts. We're passionate about it and you will definitely hear lots of news from us the following months. Hans de Groot,
The Annual Association Management CongressOn Thursday, November 15th, VM (Association Management) publishers organized the eighth Annual Association Management Congress at the CORPUS Congress Centre. This year's topic was "Winning by relevance". It is clear that the "member landscape" is changing. Member organizations are looking for ways and media to attract young entrepreneurs and colleagues, without leaving their devoted members out of sight. We have been lending a hand in these developments for some time with our Stb Members package. In addition to CRM software for member organizations, we also offer a unique communication platform for organizations. This includes web design, web portals and newsletters, as well as a social business platform for efficient cooperation (Worknets.com) and mobile apps. Of course, this is all seamlessly integrated with our CRM software. This way, we are building a "Robust Technology Framework" (a necessary change in the relevance race, according to Harrison Coerver, a guest speaker at the congress) and we become co-winners in the field of relevance.
Stb took part in the RAD RaceIn November this year, Stb participated for the first time in the Rapid Application Development Race in Hasselt, Belgium. This is an international competition where teams of two people get fourteen hours to build an application. Here is how it all happened: on Friday morning, the teams received the application specs. The participants got down to work right after the briefing. The next day, the teams received changed specs, which required them to adapt their application. Late in the afternoon, each team held a demonstration, and then the jury decided which application best matched the specs. Stb's team won 5th place in this international competition. Considering it was their first time participating in the RAD Race, that was quite a performance. Next year, there will be a new round – and new chances!
New clientsDuring the past months, Stb has again managed to land several nice jobs with leading organizations. Prominent names include Stichting Proefdiervrij (an organization fighting for the rights of lab animals) and Natuurmonumenten (an organization focusing on the preservation of nature monuments). Stb is also proud to announce that a large number of clinics have decided to update their existing fertility software environment and go for the National Specialist Fertility File (Landelijk Specialistisch Fertiliteit Dossier – LSFD). These are Medisch Centrum Kinderwens, Catharina Hospital, Erasmus MC, Sint Franciscus Gasthuis, Jeroen Bosch Hospital, and St. Elisabeth Hospital.
Stb takes part in the 15th edition of The Original RAD Race
Each team (made up of two people) receives the specs for a particular application from the organizers, and has two days to develop it. Then, the jury evaluates the applications and selects a winner. Stb is sending Karel Broer and Mark Voorboom to compete in the RAD Race on its behalf. By using the Stb Framework, they expect to score high. More information: http://www.radrace.org
It is autumn, a good time to reflect and look forwardAutumn is here. It's the season to scrutinize plans and ambitions and to start working on the budgets for 2013. It's a picture you are probably quite familiar with. Despite the rough economic climate, we still have the pleasure to welcome new clients each month. Innovation strength and drive are often mentioned as reasons to choose Stb. We are, of course, happy to see our client base expanding, but we find it even more important to keep our existing clients. We are proud that many of the clients we started with are still working with us today. October was a milestone for our subsidiary Stb Care. In mid-October, Stb Care moved to a new location in Almere, a municipality that offers pioneering facilities to the supply industry for the healthcare sector. Another major development is that the previously announced cooperation with DataStudio is taking shape. At the beginning of 2013, you can expect to see an all-new proposition for the charity sector from this entity. It's a proposition that blends the best of both companies. You can read more about it in our next newsletter. What else are we busy with? A new release of Stb CRM will be out later this year. This version brings new, powerful correspondence functionalities and a seamless integration with various social media environments. Our recently launched innovative products Worknets.com and Stb CRM Mobile are currently being used to great effect by various clients and have been proven to bring high added value. In addition to the iOS platform, Stb CRM Mobile is also going to be launched for the Android platform this year. Android powers 82% of the smartphones. FileMaker has always been an important pillar for Stb. The launch of FileMaker 12 proves that FileMaker is also important to Apple. Mobile developments and powerful user interfaces, as you would expect from Apple, are central to it. We see lots of new opportunities and we would very much like to exchange views with you on this topic. To put it briefly, there are lots of innovations possible in all our focus areas, which you, as a client, can benefit from. We are going to continue along this path next year as well. Rob Goijen,
Coming soon: Stb CRM Mobile for AndroidWe are currently working hard to bring out the Android version of Stb CRM Mobile. The app will offer pretty much the same functionality as the iOS version. The two interfaces will also have a lot in common. The app will nevertheless be fully customized for the Android system and will make optimal use of the features of this operating system. Just like the iOS version, Stb CRM Mobile for Android will retrieve all data directly using an Internet connection, rather than saving it locally. In other words, you get real-time information, no synchronization hassle, and added security. The main features are:
If you intend to use the Android app in combination with your Stb product or if you have any questions, please contact your Stb account manager.
Congress on organizational media trendsOn Tuesday, September 25th this year, VM Uitgevers (Organizational Media Publishers) held a congress regarding the trends in organizational media. The topic of the day was "Attention in the community". The way in which organizations can communicate has changed radically. Communication is now facilitated by new tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Worknets, Twitter, etc. In this context, the dialogue with the members is becoming increasingly important. Stb was an active participant in the congress, relying on its expertise in the field of Social CRM. We focused primarily on Worknets and its integration with the Stb CRM systems, which makes sure that social business does not remain a separate part of the organization. The audience responded with lots of attention and enthusiasm! It was a successful day, which VM Uitgevers captured in a very nice video (in Dutch).

Here are some of the features a FileMaker Go application could offer:
Twenty years of innovation with StbJune 12 was the day: Stb's twentieth anniversary. Together with our clients, we celebrated it on the Rotterdam steamboat, the beautifully restored cruiser of the Holland America Line. Innovation, the central topic of the day, is what has set Stb apart during the past twenty years. Stb will go on investing in Worknets.com, the social business platform facilitating cooperation among companies, which is linked to Stb's software solutions. The strategy used for maintaining a clear focus on defined product-market combinations will be carried on. Member organizations, training institutes, the healthcare sector, and government bodies are the point of focus. Additionally, FileMaker remains a major pillar of the Stb organization. Mr. Cremers, a professional trend watcher, described in a swirling argument worldwide IT-based developments, a good foundation for the road Stb has engaged on. The importance of cloud computing was defined in precise terms by Mr. Aleman, CEO of Servoy. Mr. Van der Zee, CBW Mitex manager, and Mr. Beins, founder of CheapTickets.nl and SocialPlaces.com, shared their vision regarding the fast-changing landscape. It was clear that, if we have an open attitude towards these changes, they will mainly create chances. It was nice to hear that they saw Stb as a good, innovative, and loyal partner. It was a very successful and enjoyable day, to which the many positive feedback messages also contributed. Jan Willem Broekman, Rutger Slager, Rob Goijen
Everyone in the Netherlands will have a longer bank account numberSwitching to IBAN – what's to take into account? As of 2014, the European payment system will become integrated. Among others, this includes the introduction of the International Bank Account Number (IBAN). As of February 1, 2014, you will need to use your IBAN when making payments. The number consists of your current bank account number, preceded by the country code (NL for the Netherlands), a control number (two figures), a bank code (four letters in the Netherlands), and one or several zeroes. The IBAN is currently used mainly for international payments, but it will soon be used for all national payments as well. The Dutch IBAN consists of 18 characters. Stb expects its systems to conform to the IBAN standards by Q4 2012. You also need to take a few steps to this end. We'll gladly help you with the preparation. Please pay attention to the following:
You can let us know when you would like to start using the IBAN numbering.

Stb wins the Servoy Innovation Award for Worknets.comStb's focus on innovation does not go unnoticed and has been crowned with the Servoy Innovation Award. The reason is Stb's vision on B2B in relation with social media solutions. Worknets.com is the solution that has been created. A solution that enables organizations to become linked with each other. When organizations are linked at business level, there is also a common goal. This objective is placed centrally in the cloud.
