About us

Stb was established in 1992. At that time, we were a group of four enthusiastic students developing tailored CRM systems for business clients. During the day, we took turns at attending classes and spending time with our clients, and in the evening we would work on the software.

We started from the idea that systems had to perfectly match our clients' business processes. And we didn't stop working on them until they did. That often meant a lot of late nights at the office... Back in those days, we started a tradition of eating Chinese food together on Wednesday evenings. It's a tradition that we still keep to this day.

In the meantime, Stb has become a renowned automation company with over 250 clients and employing forty people, including software developers, implementation consultants, project managers, and R&D specialists. Our company is headquartered in Houten. In 2008, we opened an office in Timişoara, Romania, currently employing five people. The office is involved primarily in software development.

Milestones:

1992
The company is set up.

1993
Two of the four founders go on: Jan Willem Broekman and Rutger Slager. They are both still involved in the enterprise. The former is the general manager, and the latter is the R&D manager.

1996
The first Stb website is launched.

1998
Stb opens its support desk.
A satisfied client invests in the enterprise.

2000
The first web application is launched under the name Virtual Office, connecting back-offices with the web based on FileMaker.

2001
The first client with over 250 users.

2002
Stb takes over Knowledge Factory.

2003
Stb has 17 employees and continues its growth.

2004
New application interface.
Applications are diversified into product lines per sector.
The first paper-based newsletter is published.
Stb moves to its current location: Randhoeve 223 in Houten

2005
Stb improves its internal task distribution.
The first Clients' Day is organized.
Stb starts using Java & SQL (Servoy) as an application platform (in addition to FileMaker)

 

 

2006
Dashboards with business intelligence information are introduced.
After the Rotterdam Municipality, Stb delivers the Youth Tracking System for the Amsterdam Municipality.
The newsletter goes digital.

2007
A Symposium celebrating Stb's 15th anniversary.
High Growth Award 2007.

2008
Applications become available in the form of Software as a Service (SaaS) as well.
Stb opens an office in Romania.
High Growth Award 2008.
Most Modular Software Award at the Servoy World 2008 in Las Vegas.

2009
Stb Care is developed.
The Workflow management is launched.
"Instant Views is launched, making data available for standard reporting tools.

2010
Stb won the contract for the development of the National Specialist Fertility File (Landelijk Specialistisch Fertiliteit Dossier – LSFD), a specialist EPD for reproductive medicine.
Stb Care Ltd has been set up in response to the growth within the healthcare sector.

2011
Innovation is core.
Stb is a creator of, and participant in, Worknets – the social media concept that links organizations.
The Stb CRM system gets a new "look & feel".
Stb gets a big commission for its CRM system in the USA.
Rob Goijen joins the company as 3rd manager.
